BSULN...

I would to the Happy High!

So It's 4:30 AM and I, Noah has just finished 75% of the bass tracks on the album and I have set a new record for takes! 117 takes on the track Happy. Yes, I was about to smash my bass all over the place and "defecate" into my amp. Well It would help if I didn't decide to change the way I play it at that last second.

Anywhooo! It's looking like a album and a party sometime around May! All we have left is, finish the bass tracks, record the guitars, vocals, add whatever we want, design the album cover, kick the dog, get the album mastered and duplicated x1000 or more!

So hold on and spread the butter word!

"Take it!"

Would I or did I?

So here we are, two days into recording "Happy High." I would describe where I stand as cautiously optimistic. Optimism is an easy thing to find at this point in the project because I have yet to record anything except scratch tracks, and from what I've heard that has been recorded, it appears that we have found the right track (no pun intended).

The first day we took the time to setup everything and proceeded to take approximately - oh, the rest of the day - figuring out how to approach recording. Of course the way we were doing it to start with was not the way we ended up doing it, but you have to believe that everything happens for a reason.

Nic has all of his drum work done with the exception of any last minute touchup work which would be done after and the remaining tracks are complete. And to this point I would have to say we are off to a good start. The foundation of the album has been laid and without a solid base in that regard we would be forced to start over.

We are all very excited to let you all in on our project. Stay tuned for more information on our release date and especially our CD release show.

Take it,
Jon

Teamwork is valuable to us all in various places in life. Clearly that includes TVU... Example, Nic and Noah (and their infinite playlist) loading for recording.

Guess who?

Hey all!

This here is your favorite bassist from your favorite band! No it’s not Paul McCarty.

So I would like to thank Nic and Jon for inviting me back to play again! It’s been sometime since I’ve been in a band, other than being a stand in. I’m excited about playing some awesome gigs and recording the first TVU album!

I guess I’ll fill you all in on what is going on regarding the album. We are planning….. Yes…. That’s about it. Right now we are deciding where to record, how to record, what to record, and if poo poo is one word or two.

So hold on tight! If you can’t wait, head over to The Vintage Union’s Myspace Music account and listen to our live tracks from the Elbo Room in Chicago IL.

Also, come and see us live on March 19, 2010 at Taffy's in Eaton Ohio! Now I know it's a bit of a drive for you all here in Indy so if you don't want to come but you know someone that is around the Cincinnati area, send them our way!

Cheers!

Noah

This one time in Chicago...

So we went into the windy city for the first time as a band on Sunday. It was an extreme rush for us to realize that we were playing away from the comforts of home. On top of that we were and are rejoicing the return of Noah Adamson to the band. Not only a great bass player, but an awesome guy. I feel like our performance in Chicago was a little better than it seemed while on stage. Reflecting on the whole show makes me think about how far we've come as a band. The music seems to be maturing a little bit and if our show at the Elbo Room was us at now - after only a week with Noah - the places we will go when we are all a little more 'settled in' make me incredibly optimistic... Looking forward to the days ahead for sure.
